Robert William Seader “Bob” passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2011, at Valley Healthcare.
Bob was born on June 30, 1923, in Melbeta, Neb., to Adam and Amelia Seader. After several moves, the family moved to the Forsyth area in 1935, where they farmed.
On July 12, 1942, Bob married his sweetheart, Barbara Ellen Dowlin, in Miles City. They moved to Billings in 1951 after various moves, including Portland, Ore., where Bob worked as a welder at the shipyards. In 1955, they had one daughter, Carolyn.
By trade, Bob was a carpenter. He was a hard worker and willing to take on any job, large or small. He loved to hunt and fish with his brothers and brothers-in-law. After retirement, Bob became involved in Gideon’s International, where he gave out lots of Bibles. Through his church, he made several trips to Haiti, Guatemala and the Navaho Indian Reservation in New Mexico to help build churches and schools.
Bob loved his entire family, especially the kids. He is preceded in death by his parents, and 11 brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Barbara; his daughter, Carolyn Farmer (Dan); granddaughters, Heather and Melissa (Larry); and great-granddaughters, Ashlee and Kiawna; a brother, John Seader (Pat); sisters, Ollie Morton, Norma Steinback, all of Billings, Sharon Williams of Hysham, several brothers- and sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at Faith Evangelical Church on Dec. 1, at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gideon’s International, Billings West Camp, PO Box 20024, Billings, MT 59102 or a charity of one’s choice.
Dad, you will be in our hearts forever.
I AM SORRY ABOUT YOUR LOSS, AS IT IS SAID HE IS IN A BETTER PLACE AND IS COMFORTABLE, TAKE CARE AND GOD BLESS
What a wonderful life Bob was given! Even so, it’s hard to say good-bye. We’re thinking of you and praying for you with much love.
