Eva L. “Eve” Satre, 89 of Billings died on November 2, 2012, at Sapphire Suites at Valley Healthcare Center. Eve was born on January 29, 1923 in Lewistown, MT, the daughter of Charles E. and Ida May Keis. She attended public schools in Musselshell and Roundup, graduating from high school in Roundup in 1941. She moved to Billings thereafter. Eve attended beauty school in Billings and operated her own beauty shop for several years. She was also an instructor at the beauty school for a time. Later, Eve attended Business College in Denver, Colo.

Eve married Royce W. Satre in Billings on October 8, 1944. Roy and Eve lived in Billings until 1965, moving then to North Dakota, later to Portland and Denver, returning to Billings in 1980. Roy passed away in 2003.

Eve was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. She served as a Deacon and in Stephen Ministries. She was also an active member of Presbyterian Women’s Association and had served as moderator. Eve enjoyed golf, bridge, playing the organ, her son and grandsons and people.

Eve is survived by her son Mark Satre of Chandler, AZ; grandsons, Mark (Kristi) Satre, Jr., and Michael (Amy) Satre; and 5 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Roy; and sister Stella Vranish.

Cremation has taken place. Private graveside services will be held at Mountview Cemetery .In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Presbyterian Church or charity of one’s choice.

  4. I will miss Eva she was a very sweet lady enjoyed talking to her in the mornings. Enjoyed taking care of her everyday loved her wit and her stories. My sympathies go out to the family she will be missed. Eva you are an angel in heaven now you can be there hairdresser.
