Virginia “Gini” Durant, 69, of Billings, passed away on May 20, 2013.

Gini was born on Sept. 17, 1943, to Clarence and Anna Walker, in Minot, N.D. She was the youngest of nine children.

She met her second husband, Frank, for the first time on Friday the 13th. It became a beautiful and lucky day for her. Gini had two children: Charles Kenneth and Anne Marie. She loved them as much as a mother can love her children. They, along with Frank’s son Craig, became a family.

Once Gini’s cancer was discovered, Frank became so much more. To Gini, he became the touchable angel on her shoulder. Through it all, he and God were beside her.

Gini is survived by her loving husband, Frank; their children Charles (Imogene) Durant, Craig (Darla) Durant and Anne (Greg) Jones and their precious families; and her siblings Arthur, Richard, James, Charles and Carol.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Kenneth, Louise and Ruth; and by two grandchildren.

Gini was blessed with a large extended family.

A special thank you to her medical family at Billings Clinic and Billings Clinic Cancer Center for 15 years of loving care.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 28, at First United Methodist Church.

Memorials may be sent to Billings Clinic Cancer Center, United Methodist Women or the charity of your choice.

Gini and I graduated from high school together. To me, she will always be that wonderful girl with the giggle, the perfect ponytail, and the red “Jimmy Dean” jacket — the girl who could REALLY dance! My sympathy to all of her family.

You taught us to be positive and strong and never give up….thank you for being such a wonderful friend and enriching our lives with your spirit. Jim and I will always cherish those fun times in Arizona and the memories we have we will hold dear to your memory. God has now granted you peace and freedom from pain…keep smiling down on us!! Our sympathies to Frank and family. We were blessed to meet them in Casa Grande and count them as friends, if only for a
short time.. We will miss her. She will be pain free and at peace. We admired her great spirit and positive attitude. She was a wonderful friend.
