“Mr. Mac” completed his earthly chores Sunday morning at 9:30 and went home to spend eternity with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We celebrate his life lived with passion and determination to love God, his family, and friends above himself.
Dad devoted his life to loving and serving kids and families. Upon graduation from Seattle Pacific College in 1949 he became a coach and teacher at Kings Garden, a private school in Seattle. In 1952 Bob and Doris moved to Worland, WY. to become a teacher and assistant administrator at the Wyoming State Industrial School.
In May of 1957, in response to the Lord’s call and the vision of Franklin Robbie, Bob and Doris loaded their 1952 Ford sedan with their 2 kids and headed from Worland to a 160 acre farm west of Billings to help start Yellowstone Boys Ranch.
Like many of “the greatest generation”, they were willing to risk everything because of their love for kids and desire to see them find love, hope and success. They had a dream but never could have imagined what would be realized over the next 56 years. Dad’s faith and stubborn persistence has left an amazing legacy.
Many of you got to know Dad personally over the years. He was always prepared to share his passion for the kids and mission of YBGR. We want to celebrate his life. If you have memories and personal experiences that you would like to share, please email them to glennmc@ybgr.org or mail to 1732 S. 72nd Street W. Billings 59106 we would like to save them as a memorial to his devotion to kids and families.
A celebration of Mr. Mac’s life will be held Saturday August 31st at 10:00 A.M. at Faith Chapel in Billings.
The family requests that memorials be sent to Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch Foundation, 2050 Overland Ave., Billings, Mt. 59102.
