After her children had graduated high school, she was hired by School District 2 as a cook at Lincoln Junior High and then became head cook and manager at Castle Rock Middle school until her retirement.

She enjoyed playing bridge, golfing, camping and boating with her family and friends. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also loved being in her yard, working in her numerous flower gardens and listening to the birds.
