Helen Schultz

Our beautiful mother, grandmother, grandma great, sister, aunt and friend went dancing with the angels early in the morning on Feb. 25, 2014. She was born on Aug. 19, 1920, one of six children.
Helen married Lloyd Schultz in 1937. Together, they raised six children in Westby. Lloyd passed away in 1995 after 57 years of marriage.
Helen was an awesome cook and loved to bake. She cooked at the local café in Westby for many years. She compiled a cookbook of all her famous recipes at the age of 82 to share with all the special people in her life, with the help of her daughter Lorrie. She loved to cook for anyone that happened to come through her door. She shared her cooking with all her daughters and granddaughters; they all have turned out to be pretty darn good cooks. Her family was so special to her and she loved spending time with them, from camping and fishing to a night out at a casino. When her boys, as she called them, took out their boats to go fishing, Mom and her best friend Inez Strand were the first ones in the boat. When evening came on those camping trips, they were the first ones to the poker table, beating the pants off those grandsons!! She loved baseball and a highlight of her life was going out to Seattle to see her Mariners.
She leaves behind her six children, Bunnie Aue (Art), Nettie Holmes (Arnie), Gary Schultz (Maelyne), Rick Schultz (Lou Anne), Lorrie Castellano (Mike) and Lisa Schultz. She had 14 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Mom moved to Aspen Meadows Nursing Home in December of 2012. She had so many special people taking care of her there. She always said: “Oh, they are so good to me.” We are extremely grateful for that.
We all love you, Mom. Until we meet again, Rest in Paradise!!!
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, March 3, at St. Pius X Church. Interment will be in Mountview Cemetery.
