Mary was born on Jan. 15, 1940, in O’Neill, Neb., to Harry and Margurite Graham. She attended St. Mary’s Academy and graduated in 1957.

Mary met Duane Lindenberg in 1957 and they married in 1958. They were blessed with a daughter, Debra, in 1959, and then with a son, Kevin, in 1960.

Duane transferred to the Billings BLM Office in 1963, where they then made their home. Their son Jeff joined the family in 1964 and their youngest son, Matt, completed the family in 1971.

Mary and Duane along with their children traveled all summer long working and living in many small towns. The people they met over the years through Duane’s job and in the places they lived were like family to them. Many happy times were spent socializing and having family potlucks.

Mary worked in the daycare at the Billings YWCA for over 20 years, caring for countless children. When Duane retired from the BLM, they purchased some land in Red Lodge and spent several years building a cabin. Many happy hours were spent at the cabin as Mary and Duane worked side by side.

In the later years of her life, Mary enjoyed playing cards with her friends and having weekly coffee times with her neighbors.

Mary passed away on April 30, 2014, from cancer.

She is survived by her loving family: her daughter, Debbie (Joe) Scheffelman; her son, Kevin Lindenberg; her son, Jeff (Carol) Lindenberg; and her son, Matt (Christina) Lindenberg; her brothers, Ed Graham, Don Graham, Dick Graham; sister Kay Maughan; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

The family would like to extend their thanks to Dr. Brock Whittenberger and the staff at RiverStone Hospice.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary, 1001 Alderson Ave. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 7, at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary. Reception to follow burial services.
