Michelle Ann Vigesaa passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 47 in her home in Billings.

Born on Jan. 22, 1967, in Denver, Colo., to Joann (Wade) Metherd and Charles Laverne Metherd, Michelle attended Ponderosa High School in Parker, Colo., before moving to Billings and graduating from Billings Senior High. Michelle attended college at Eastern Montana College where she met Ben Vigesaa in 1985, and they married in 1987. Two years later they welcomed the birth of the first of their four boys. She received her bachelor degree in accounting, graduating with honors from Eastern Montana College in 1996, all while raising her boys.

She is survived by many loved ones — her spouse, Benjamin Tait Vigesaa; her four sons, in order of their births, Andrew Tait, Taylor Randall, Teagan Wiley and Seth Michael; her grandson Kael Haze Vigesaa; Michelle’s parents, Joann and Charles Metherd; brothers Randall Charles Metherd, David Alan Metherd, and sister Melinda Metherd Barrett of Billings.

She is preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Peryl Blanche Davis of Denver.

A public viewing will be held at Michelotti-Sawyer Mortuary and Crematory on 1001 Alderson Ave. on Thursday, Aug. 28, from 1 to 4 p.m. *There will be a private viewing at 7 p.m. by invitation for family and close friends*. Following the viewing, Michelle will be cremated and her ashes held by her family. The funeral services will be at 2 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church at 537 Grand Ave. and officiated by the Rev.
