Kira Ostman

Kira Kristie Ostman was born on Oct. 16, 1985. She was 34 years young when her life was taken on May 30, 2020, in Billings.

She was the daughter of Craig and Kathie Ostman of Conrad. Kira was a loving, caring, compassionate, big-hearted young woman. Her family meant everything to her. She was her dad’s “bud” and her mother’s precious girl.

Her work ethic was strong and reliable. She was liked by all her employers and coworkers. She aced every job interview she was given. A modest, natural beauty who often sported a baseball cap but could turn around and look stunning in a dress. She never thought of herself that way. She had a beautiful singing voice from the time she was a little girl. She enjoyed hiking, target practicing, biking, gopher hunting, and cooking with her dad. She also traveled through countries in Asia and Europe with her sisters. In 2008, she graduated with honors from Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Portland, Oregon. She had been currently employed as a social service technician at Child and Family Services Division in Billings.

Survivors include her parents, Craig and Kathie Ostman of Conrad; sisters Jolie (Jason) Kiser of Great Falls, Maria Ostman of New York; nephews Grayson and Penn Kiser; aunts Lorili Ostman of California, Denise (John) Soto of California, Connie Hirsch of Choteau; Uncle Danny (Debbie) Williams of Alaska. First cousins include Jeff, Kelly, Jim and Brian Hirsch, Robert (Jordan) Williams, Andy Williams, Dominic (Amanda) Alexander, Alexa (Josh) Lozano, Danielle (Robert) Smith, Brittiny (Tyler) Cheatwood, and many little cousins. Honorary sisters are Tessa Konieczka, Christina Deshner, Diana Sungren, Jalayna Hartman, and Dorothy Ho. Honorary aunts are Carol Lea, Kathleen Van Heel, Kathy Maynard, Terry Syvertson, and Cheryl Bentley. Honorary uncle is Randy Bentley and her dear friend, Mark Smith. Honorary cousins are Danielle and Chris Verbus and Cade Bishop. Honorary nieces and nephews are Peyton, Taylor, William, Tneea, Tatum, and Tuff.

Preceding her in death was Grandma Pauline “Toots” Embody, Grandpa Alvin “Porky” Ostman, and infant cousin, Michael Hirsch.

Our hearts are deeply sadden to know that such a beautiful soul was taken from so many. Kira, I am forever thankful for the time you spent with my boys, loving them, teaching them, showing them new adventures and introducing them to your fun sometimes unique but always delicious foods. You truly loved them as they did you and it showed.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Peace be with you sweet girl!
