Adeline "Addie" B. McKenna passed away at Billings Clinic on Wednesday, March 29, 2006, with her family at her side.
Addie was born to John and Margaret Meyer on November 20, 1929 in Hirshville, North Dakota. Her growing up years were spent on various farms that her family worked on in the Taylor, North Dakota area. Addie graduated from Taylor High School and went on to work as a bookkeeper. In 1954 she met and married John C. McKenna. She devoted her time and attention to creating a warm home for her husband and children. Addie was a loving wife and mother who gave of herself and took care of her family. She loved to work in her flower beds, she felt at peace there. She enjoyed baking and passed many delicious recipes down to her children. In later years her primary focus was being a much loved Gramma to her grandchildren. "Mom, there are no words to express the loss we feel, but we are comforted knowing you are out of pain and back at dad's side. You will forever be in our hearts."
Addie is survived by her children, grandchildren, and step-grandchildren: Don (Liz) McKenna (Morgan, Lauren, Danielle, Sarah, Evan, Sarah) of Rochester, NY; Anita McKenna of Billings; Tom McKenna (Kirsten) of Billings; John (Rebecca) McKenna (John J., Aaron, Pat, Paul) of Beulah, ND; Kathy (Lan) Bauer (Shad, Rory, Nathan) of Roberts, MT; Valeri (Regan) Milburn (Zachary, Arielle) of Billings; Sally McKenna of Billings; brother, Ray (Vi) Meyer of Mandan, ND; sisters, Liz Gausch of Darien, WI and Jenny (Frank) Zillich of Taylor, ND; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John in 1991; brothers, Donny and Ed, and her parents.
