Alexander Baylor Mogan born on Aug. 4, 1925, to Alexander (Sr.) and Yukona Mogan. He attended school until 1944, when his father was killed in a tragic car accident, making it necessary for him to manage the family ranch with his brother, John.

In 1950, Alex married Doris Rogers at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Great Falls.

Alex's main interests were ranching, family, livestock feeding, and he was also an excellent airplane pilot. Alex and Doris moved to Billings in1989, where he went to PAYS Cattle Auction every day and met many cherished friends. He kept busy developing a ranch and farm in South Dakota on Pine Ridge Reservation, which he sold in 2003.

Alex served on several boards, including: Advisory Board of MSU (Bozeman), (Chairman) Valley County Tax Appeal Board, VC Study Commission, MT Quality Commodity Assn., (Charter member) VC Telephone Assn., Lutheran Church Board, and was a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge.

Alex is preceded in death by his mother, father, daughter Laura Philemonof and granddaughter Kimberly Bayly.

He is survived by his wife, Doris; sons J.R., Paul (Bobbi), David; son-in-law Dimitri Philemonof; granddaughter Kristin (Bobby) Evans; great-grandchildren; brother John and family; sister Joanne (Jim) Howey and family; sister-in-law Barbara Seal and family.

A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
