Our mother, Alice Lorraine (Kern) Lambrecht passed away on Oct.10, 2024, much the same way she lived: peacefully and surrounded by family.

Mom was born in Mott, North Dakota, on April 11, 1931, to Russell and Albertina (Beehler) Kern. The family moved when Mom was a child to Miles City. After a few years, the family settled in Billings. Mom was the second oldest of 11 children.

Mom met our dad, Wally Lambrecht, in Billings and they were married on Sept. 12, 1953. They farmed in the Heights and then in Huntley until 1966. They moved back to Billings to raise their seven children. After the children were grown, Mom went back to work at the Goodies Spud Chip factory, where she had worked as a teenager. After a fire at Goodies closed the factory, Mom went to work as a baker at School District 2, where she worked until she retired.

Mom and Dad enjoyed traveling, including to Europe, Alaska, an east coast trip to see the fall colors, several cruises and much of the United States.

Dad grew a large garden every year and Mom was known for her canning skills, especially her crisp dill pickles and zesty tomato juice. She spent many summer hours in the company of a pressure cooker!

Mom was a devout Catholic. She and Dad were charter members of St. Bernard Catholic Church.

Mom was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wally; our sister Shelly; and her sisters, Gladys Reed, Carolyn Lambrecht, Eleanor Kern and Diane Billman; and her brothers, Donald, Roderick, Albert and Douglas.

Mom is survived by her sisters, Margaret Larson of Billings and Elsie Austin of Las Vegas, Nevada. She is also survived by her children, Connie (Jerry) Johnson of Billings, Raymond (Jackie) Lambrecht of Shepherd, Sharon Frank of Pompano Beach, Florida, Laura (Greg) Harris of Billings, Janet (Nate) Murphy of Billings, and Linda (Roger) St. Clair of Sheridan, Wyoming.

She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Katie (CJ) Schultz, Annie (Earl Mooney) Smith, Leah (Brett) Wolever, Kara (Steve) Wong, Jacob (Corrie) Frank, Alex (Amanda) Rowton, Paxton (Sara) Lambrecht, Keegan (Annie Mendes) Korpela, Alison (Jared) Meacham, Claire (Aaron) Enriquez, and Matthew Wigglesworth. Mom is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren, with another on the way!

The family would like to thank Ashley, Laura and Kitty of Compassus Health for their care of our mom. A heartfelt thank you to Peggy Davenport for your help with Mom and our whole family.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, at St. Bernard’s Parish, 226 Wicks Lane, Billings. Michelotti-Sawyers is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to St. Bernard Catholic Church.
