MILWAUKEE, Wisc. - Our beloved and precious Andrew Richard Carver, 43, passed away in his home, unexpectedly and far too soon, on Sunday, May 2, 2021.

Drew was born March 19, 1978, in Billings, MT. He enjoyed living in many parts of the country during his life, including Los Angeles, Mammoth Lakes, Vermont, and Utah (Los Angeles being his favorite). He embraced the California lifestyle and especially loved the ocean and beach. He learned to surf as a child, and his surfing trips to Hawaii in his 20’s were some of his favorite memories. Drew had moved to Milwaukee in 2019 to be closer to his brother, sister-in-law, and her family. He was employed, by the City of Milwaukee as a driver in the sanitation department at the time of his passing. He had also become a certified personal trainer and was using his training to help others meet their fitness and health goals.

Drew’s interests spanned a wide range. He loved discussing philosophy, critiquing art, lifting weights, skateboarding, and playing guitar. However, his life passion was glassblowing, which he did for more than 20 years. When asked what he did for a living, Drew always referred to himself as a “master glassblower.” He was an amazing artist who could do anything imaginable

with a piece of glass and a torch. His creative works were known around the country, especially in the Northeast and in the Los Angeles area.

Drew loved life, telling jokes, and playing pranks. He had a boisterous laugh and an infectious smile that brightened any room. He could also tell when someone was suffering and would be there to ease their pain. Drew loved people, he accepted he was not perfect and did not expect that of anyone else. He was a unifier, a social person who could meet a stranger and walk away with a friend. Drew enjoyed children, nature, reptiles, animals and playing with his dogs. Most of all, he loved his family and friends. We will especially miss his tender heart, love for humanity and beautiful smile.

Drew is survived by his mother, Terry Anne Carver of Billings, father Stan (Patricia) Carver of Chandler, Ariz., brother Thomas (Kristin) Carver of Milwaukee, half-sisters Kristen (Joey) Smits of San Diego, Calif., and Brenna Carver of New York City, niece, Arin Ann (Kenji), and nephew, Wesley. His loss is mourned by many aunts, uncles, and cousins; his “in-laws by proxy;” and innumerable friends. Drew was preceded in death by his grandparents Richard and Anne Meurer and Robert and Donna Carver.

Please join us in the ceremony celebrating Drew’s life. It will take place 10am Saturday, June 26, 2021 at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary with a reception to follow at Pioneer Park. The services will be livestreamed at www.michelottisawyers.com.

He brought us joy and loved us so!

To everyone that knew of Drew’s passing that reached out to us and those that would have but didn’t know about his passing, believe when we say-you will be forever treasured, and carried in our hearts and thoughts. And like our dear Drew, your kindness, comfort, love and compassion will never be forgotten.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to a local homeless shelter or humane society.

“No man is an island, entire of itself, every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main. If a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less. As well as if a promonory were. As well as if a manor of thy friend’s or of thine own were: any man’s death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind, and therefore never send to know for whom the bells tolls; it tolls for thee.” -John Donne
