Anthony ‘Tony' R. Moore

Anthony "Tony" R. Moore, kind and clever, age 70, departed this life on May 12, 2018, in Billings. He was born January 20, 1948, in Chelmsford, UK, to Sidney and Gwendoline Moore. He attended Art college and used his artistic talent as a stage designer/builder, woodworker, and graphic artist. His first marriage brought him from London to New York and Boston. He eventually made his way to Montana to "visit" a fellow cyclist he had met in Boston. They found work in Seattle, married in 1981, and were blessed with two amazing daughters. In 1993, they left behind good friends and returned to Montana to raise their daughters in a smaller community (Helena) and to be closer to family.

Tony found a niche creating guidebook maps for publishers across North America. Among his loves were: talking about his Lord and Savior Jesus, coaching his daughters in soccer, bicycling, table tennis, outdoor adventures, guitar and harmonica. He was a brilliant wordsmith who couldn't resist a good pun. Tony had a gentle spirit and showed much affection for his family. His love and devotion to his wife and daughters was evident in everything he did. He demonstrated his love for God through his delight in Scripture, consistency in prayer, and earnest service to others.

Tony and Carol moved to Billings once their daughters left for college. A year later (2011), Tony was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. He was cared for at home until his last weeks of life.

Thank you to Tony's many caregivers, including family and friends, The Springs at Grand Park staff and Compassus Hospice staff. Tony is survived by his wife, Carol; daughters Emily (Andy) Rose and Christy (Ben) Mortimer; his British uncles, aunts and cousins, and his devoted in-laws and nephews.

The memorial service for family and friends will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 19, at St. Stephens Episcopal Church, 1241 Crawford Drive, Billings.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Gideons International, Hospice, or St. Stephens Episcopal Church, or the donation of time can be given by providing companionship to those suffering from dementia.
