Arnold "Rudy" Rudolph, 86, of Billings, passed away on April 28, 2016, in Goodyear, Ariz., following a brief battle with cancer. Arnold was born on Nov. 26, 1929, in Vananda, Mont., to Jacob and Alvina Rudolph.

Arnold started school in Vananda and moved to Florence. From Florence, he moved to Hamilton and then to Billings.

He was drafted in the army of engineers. In the '50s, he went to Nevada to take part in the atomic bomb tests. After his military service, Arnold went to operating school to become an operator. He then went to work for Barry O'Leary for most of his life.

In 1963, he married Darlene Fitzer and to this union was born one son, Rodney Rudolph. He also had two stepdaughters, Linda Witt and Deborah Simon.

After his retirement, he spent most of his time in Billings and Arizona.

Arnold is survived by his son, Rodney (Viola) Rudolph of Goodyear; stepdaughter Linda Witt of Billings; grandchildren Carey Forget, Jason Hamrick, Chris Simon and Kristie Sangare; nine great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Darlene; stepdaughter and son-in-law Deborah and Vernon "Butch" Simon; parents; and sister Wilma Borsvold.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, May 6, at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary, 1001 Alderson Ave. Inurnment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
