Arthur Hakert passed away at home surrounded by his family after a short illness, January 27, 2006. He was 91 years old.
Art was born July 5, 1914 in Hinckley, Minnesota, to Joseph and Aurelia Freidl Hakert. At the age of 3, the family moved to Buffalo, Wyoming where they homesteaded and he attended school there. He attended Creighton University and University of Wyoming to obtain a degree in accounting. Art Moved to Billings where he worked for McKesson and Robbins and met his wife Beatrice Erickson. They were married at St. Patrick's Co-Cathedral on January 28, 1947. They continued to work together at their accounting office until 1989 when they both retired.
Art was a wonderful husband and father. He also loved family fishing trips to Yellowstone Park and especially celebrating family holiday dinners. The neighborhood boys all remember Art for his telescope and watching the planets at night.
Art is survived by his daughter Jane, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Art's precious wife Beatrice passed away November 9, 2005. He was also preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Cletus and Layton, and sister Amy.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial Mass will be 12:00 Noon, Friday February 3rd at St. Patrick's Co-Cathedral with Rite of Committal at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Memorial may be made to Meals on Wheels or St. Patrick's Co-Cathedral.
