Arvella Mable Kaeding Brekhus Skurdal

Arvella Mable Kaeding Brekhus Skurdal passed away on May 8, 2015, at MorningStar Senior Living in Billings. She was born on Dec. 25, 1921, at Kramer, N.D. No birth certificate was registered. She attended Stone Creek School for 12 years and Minot State Teachers College for one. She married Rosvel Brekhus and resided at Tolley and Flaxton, N.D. They moved to Sidney in 1957. Rosvel was killed in 1969 in a hunting accident. In 1975, she married Carl Skurdal. They traveled extensively for a number of years, and then retired in Billings in 1997.

She's been a lifelong member of the Missouri Synod Lutheran Church, and has been blessed with five children: four boys, Rosvel "Pete" (Agnes), Duke (JoAnn), Kit (Rita) and Rock (Sharon) Brekhus; one daughter, Holly Tuscher; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; three stepchildren, Clay (Colette) and their three children, Cory and Sara. She is also survived by her husband and remaining family: sisters Lorraine, Marilyn and Margaret.

Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, May 10, at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary, 1001 Alderson Ave. Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, May 11, at Mount Olive Lutheran Church, 2236 St. Johns Ave. Interment will be in Yellowstone Valley Memorial Park.
