Barbara Margaret Kautzman, age 89, of Ballantine, entered into Heaven's Gates on Monday, April 11, 2016, surrounded by her family.
She was born in Mott, N.D., on the family homestead. On June 19, 1950 she married the love of her life, Cornelius Kautzman, and they were married for 65 years.
Barbara had an unwavering love for God. She was an active member of St. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, where she attended Sunday mass faithfully. She was a part of a birthday club in Ballantine for over 40 years, where she organized the parties and provided many cakes upon the request of the other members.
One of her greatest pleasures was when she was able to prepare her many famous German dishes for friends and family. She enjoyed gardening, attending to her many beautiful flowers, playing cards (pinochle), dancing to polka music and spending time with family and friends.
Mom was the nucleus of our family. She knew when any of us needed her or her prayers. We never had to ask; she just knew. We will miss your beautiful smile, your hugs and all the love you gave us.
She is survived and will be greatly missed by her husband, Cornelius Kautzman; four children, Scott (Cheryl) Kautzman of Livingston, Debbie (James) Dorn of Hardin, Jed (Chavon) Kautzman of Billings, Michele (James) Reiter of Billings; three granddaughters, four grandsons, two great-granddaughters and two great-grandsons.
Rosary will be said 7 p.m. Friday, April 15, at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary, 1001 Alderson Ave. The Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Saturday, April 16, at St. Bernard's Parish, 226 Wicks Lane, with rite of committal at Yellowstone Valley Memorial Park.
