In Loving Memory of

Barbara Ann Rexford

On Dec. 11, 2021, our beloved Barb “Barbie Ann” Rexford passed peacefully into the loving arms of our Lord Jesus. Barb fought a short, but very courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Throughout this struggle, Barb remained hopeful, upbeat and faithful to her Lord. She was very appreciative of all the wonderful, loving care received from her family and friends, who unselfishly made sure that she never had to be alone, which allowed Barb the comfort of remaining in her home of 43 years. She was committed to remaining congenial and upbeat for all the “guardian angels” who cared for her. Barb would have loved to have had more time, but she was comforted knowing that her Heavenly Father was guiding her earthly journey.

Barbara Ann was born May 4, 1957, in Billings, to Robert and Marion (Tschida) Grammens and spent her childhood growing up on their family farm, attending school in Custer. She then met Tracy Rexford, the love of her life, in 1975 after finishing high school. They were married on June 4, 1976, and settled in Billings. After sharing 45 years together, they were even more in love at the time of her passing. Barb and Tracy had one son, Robert “Rob,” whom they loved, were very proud of, and who blessed them with two beautiful granddaughters, Madison “Madi” and Brooklyn, who were always the “twinkle” in their grandparents’ eyes.

Together, Barb and Tracy have always thanked the Lord for blessing them so much in their lives. They enjoyed living a simple life, working hard, enjoying their families and friends, and they loved being with each other.

Barb worked for First Interstate Bank and for JTL Group (Knife River) for a combined 35 years. She had to slow down in 2006 after undergoing a successful 14-hour surgery in Seattle to remove a brain tumor. She then worked at the YWCA for a time after her recovery. Barb’s latest job was working part-time at the front desk at Faith Chapel and she absolutely loved all the amazing people she met there and the support that they gave to her, as well as to the community. Barb always looked forward to her weekly women’s bible study group where she developed and nurtured long-lasting friendships with her “prayer warriors”, and who later provided Barb with much needed spiritual support.

Barb is survived by her soulmate, Tracy; her son, Rob; granddaughters Madi and Brooklyn; her mother, Marion Grammens; sister Kathy (Larry) Watson; father-in-law, Willis Rexford;sisters-in-law Reagan (Dan) Litzsinger, Shari (Del) Warren and Shannon Green, along with many nieces and nephews. Barb was preceded in death by her dad, Bob Grammens; sister Diane Litzsinger; mother-in-law Sharon Rexford; and two brothers-in-law Jim Green and Ryan Rexford.

Tracy would like to thank all the family members and friends who sacrificed, cared for and comforted Barbie Ann including the doctors and nurses at St. Vincent Cancer Treatment Center and RiverStone Hospice. Also, thank you to the Heavenly Father for the life they enjoyed together. They are looking forward to meeting each other again in their “Eternal Home.”
