On Saturday, April 18th, our beautiful mom, Bertha "Viola" Adams, changed her address to the place where streets are paved with gold. She was born November 17th, 1919, in Tecumseh, Oklahoma to Irvin and Agnes Turner. She was the fifth of twelve children. During the mid 3o's, her family moved to Arkansas, then on to California. In 1937, she met Harold Adams while they were both working in the cotton fields. They married in Kerman, CA in 1938 where their three children were born. They moved to Columbus, Montana in 1949 and then to Broadview where she worked at the Post Office for several years. They moved to Laurel in 1964. She is survived by Naomi Holboy, Grace (Bob) Sieler, and David (Margaret) Adams; grandchildren David, Phil, Gary, Kevin, Mark, Dan, Charise, and Sarah; 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson; one brother, two sisters, many sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews. She was preceeded in death by Harold (1998), son-in-law Wendel Holboy (2004), grandson Kerry Sieler (1965), and eight siblings. Memorials may be made to Rocky Mountain Hospice, Meals on Wheels, or Montana Talking Book Library. Visitation will be held at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary 4 - 7 p.m. Tuesday. Interment will be 1 p.m. Thursday in Laurel Cemetery followed at 2 p.m. by the funeral service to be held at Emmanuel Baptist Church.
