Bertha Venetta (Morehouse) Kuykendall

Bertha Venetta (Morehouse) Kuykendall went to be with her Lord on July 11, 2016, following a lengthy illness.

She was born in Shepherd on Sept. 19, 1930, to Burt Anderson Munyan and Marie (Maier) Munyan. Bertha attended Shepherd schools and graduated with honors in 1947. In 1950, she married Frank David Morehouse, Jr., and, to this union, five children were born. Bertha lovingly devoted herself to raising their children and serving many years as a Sunday School teacher at Trinity Church of the Nazarene. In 2001, she was widowed after 51 years of marriage when Frank passed away. She later found love again and married Revered W. Beecher Kuykendall. They shared 13 happy years together.

Bertha is survived by her husband, Beecher; and her five children, Sandi Morehouse, Bonnie (Warren Annis) Bigler, Joel Morehouse, Carrie (Luis) Rodriguez and Lonnie (Billie) Morehouse. She is also survived by her brother, Spencer Munyan; 13 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and many, many friends. We will all miss you dearly till we meet again in heaven!

A memorial service and celebration of this kind woman's life will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 13, at New Hope Church, 25 Hilltop Road.
