Betsy Lyn Duke

Betsy Lyn Duke passed away unexpectedly on Sept. 25, 2018. While we are deeply saddened by her passing, we take solace knowing that she has found peace.

Betsy was born Oct. 18, 1982, in Portland, Oregon, to Byron Duke and Vera Crain. The family moved to Billings in 1990. Some of her fondest memories growing up were of time spent in Yellowstone National Park with her dad and older brothers. Betsy graduated from Billings Senior High School in 2000 and went on to study economics at Montana State University. Betsy later returned to Portland, where she met and married Jonathan Hunt in 2006. The two moved back to Billings in 2007 and welcomed a son, Elias, in 2009.

Elias was truly the light of Betsy's life and she was a proud and dedicated mother. The two had a special bond and he filled her world with love. Much like Betsy, Elias is very intelligent and the two would spend hours having conversations. Whether they were playing a game together, going for a drive, or just watching a movie, Betsy loved spending time with her son. Betsy was a self-proclaimed "dog dork" with a contagious laugh, and her spirit was warm and welcoming. She was a gracious and accepting friend who appreciated the company of good friends and loved ones. Betsy's passing has truly left a void in the lives of her friends and family that cannot be filled.

Viewing will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30, at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary, 1001 Alderson Ave., Billings. Services will be at 4 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1, at Michelotti-Sawyers.
