In Billings, Montana, January 24, 2012, angels arrived to take Betty to her eternal home. On a bright sunny day, December 27, 1934, in Tensleep, Wyoming, James and Celesta Keele welcomed their new daughter, Betty Fay, the first of eight. Betty grew up in Kane and Lowell, Wyoming, and Fromberg, Montana. She moved to Billings in 1950 and graduated from Billings Senior High. On October 7, 1955, she exchanged wedding vows with Gerald Gabel and they had four children. Betty was very active in her children's activities, Girls and Boys Scouts, 4-H. In 1972 she began her new career as a CNA at Glendeen Nursing Home and Yellowstone County Nursing Home. Betty was an active member at First Congregational Church. Betty's children and grandchildren were her joy. In her spare time, she was an avid reader, enjoyed crossword and jig saw puzzles, taking walks, gardening but most of all, being a Mother and Grandmother.

Betty is survived by her children: Geraldine "Geri" Mollett, Eileen (Ken) Stevens-Schlaht, and Levi Gabel; her grandchildren: Tamara (Shawn) Meissel, Justin Stevens, Tina (Albert) Gabel, Shannon (Jeremy) Crews; and 6 wonderful great grandchildren; two sisters: Doris Reicher and Ruth Miller; plus 30 nieces and nephews. Other special loved ones include Luke Fore, Candy Gabel, Michael Mollett and Dan Stevens.

Betty was preceded in death by her son, Ronald; her parents James and Celesta Keele; brothers James Jr., Ray, Charles (Bob), and Jack; and sister Lola.

Mom, Grandma: We will miss your smile, wittiness and the pillar of strength we could always count on during our troubled times. We love you. May the sunshine and the embrace of the Lord's arms keep you eternally warm.

Memorial services will be held at Unity Church of Christianity, 9 14th Street West in Billings on Monday, January 30th, at 11:00 am. A Celebration of Life will be held in late June with time and place to be announced at a later date.

Please share your remembrance with others. After review you memory will be posted to this page and shared with the family.
