Betty Jean Larsen Profile Photo

Betty Jean Larsen passed away peacefully on Nov. 1, 2015, at Westpark Village in Billings, where she was lovingly cared for over the past three and one half years. Betty was born on Feb. 11, 1932, in Miles City, to Peter J. and Helen Adolph Lucas. While attending school in Miles City, Betty worked in her father's restaurant, the old Met Cafe. After graduating from high school, she took an office position with the Northern Pacific Transport. While working there, Betty fell in love with and married Charles M. Larsen. Shortly thereafter, "Chuck" transferred to Billings and the two of them settled there for the remainder of their lives. With her infectious personality, sense of humor and love of life, Betty was unforgettable to all who knew her. She was an incredible cook and enjoyed pleasing others with her culinary skills. Betty had a strong artistic flair which she exhibited throughout her life. Her compassionate nature and generosity were unmatched. She never missed a birthday, nor ever forgot those special occasions in each of our lives. She loved nicknames and once you were "tagged," you knew you were special to her, even as you tried to live down your new identity. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Chuck; her son, Wayne; and her brother, Bob. She is survived by her daughters, Shawnda Goodson (Rory) of Vancouver, Wash., Donnie Jean Galloway (Jack) of Spokane, Wash.; her son, William (Lorri) of Billings; and seven grandchildren and countless great-grandchildren. A service to honor Betty's memory will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary, 1001 Alderson Ave.
