Betty Pursell, 83, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on March 16, 2019. Betty was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was born on May 19, 1935, in Boise, ID, to William and Mirtha Henderson.
Betty graduated from Boise High School in 1953. She attended Boise Junior College for a year. Betty married Dave and they spent 62 wonderful years together. She enjoyed being a mother raising her three children. Later, Betty worked as a bookkeeper at A.B. Dick Products, a company that she owned with her husband.
Betty enjoyed cooking, and she was known by family for her exceptional pies. We all had our favorite pie and she knew which one to bring at any family get together. Her sewing skills were phenomenal. She would sew clothes, sleeping bags, coats, almost anything. Betty and Dave enjoyed dancing together. They wouldn't miss the opportunity to get up and show off their dance moves. She enjoyed her Compass Club group and getting together for lunch with them monthly. During retirement, Betty and Dave enjoyed traveling in their RV extensively across the United States, including wintering in Arizona.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Dave Pursell and her son, Kevin Pursell. She is survived by her sister, Welles Seifert; son, Terry (Deb) Pursell; daughter, Kindra (Ken) McMullin; daughter-in-law, Jan Pursell; grandsons, Aaron, Brad (Tiffany) and Konnar; granddaughters, Amanda and Anne; three nephews; five nieces and 13 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life in Betty's honor will be held at Oscar's Park (3740 Wise Lane) on Tuesday, April 2, at 2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Adult Resource Alliance or a charity of your choice.
