Betty J. Greenfield Wright Watts passed away in her home on Saturday, June 30, 2018. She was born on Sept. 4, 1928, near Sheridan, Wyoming, the second child of Jack and Ines (Miller) Greenfield. She went to Hardin schools. She was baptized at the First Baptist Church in Billings. On Feb. 23, 1946, she married the love of her life, Howard Wright. They lived in Miles City, Chicago, Billings and Roberts. They made many friends wherever they lived and had three wonderful sons. Howard Wright died on Jan. 12, 1962. Then, in 1963, she married Howard Watts and had one more adorable son, Rickie Watts.

Betty lived in Billings most of her adult life. Howard Watts owned Big Sky Appliance Repair. Betty helped run their business out of the family home which they had built in 1965 on 15th Street West. She lived there with her four sons and her stepson, Clifford Watts. Howard had a massive stroke in 1976 and she took care of him in their home for the next 24 years until his death. He was never able to work again.

Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her life. She loved each and every one of them.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father; sons Richard Wright and Donald Wright; husbands Howard Wright and Howard Watts; grandson Joshua Wright; brothers Bill, Charles, Robert and Lyle Greenfield; sisters Alice (Greenfield) Weyerbacher and Joan (Greenfield) Koltiska; and stepdaughter Shelly (Watts) McCool.

Survivors include her sons, Daniel (Bonnie) Wright and Rick (Katrina) Watts, both of Colorado; brothers Chester (Bev) Greenfield and Raymond Greenfield, both of Billings; stepchildren Clifford Watts, Kathy Nile, Linda Griebel, Edith Hook, Becky Smithee and Russell Watts, all of Arkansas; grandchildren Jenalee (Jim) White of Billings, Donald Wright of Colorado, David Wright of California, Kurtis (Stacy) Wright of Florida, Kevin (Katie) Wright of Helena, Alisha Watts of Georgia, Alexander, Jonathan, Noah and Jackson Watts all of Colorado; great-grandchildren Hailee, Coral and Remi White of Billings; Carter, Owen and Abby Wright of Florida and Evan, Hayden and Ian Wright of Helena. Also many nieces and nephews, including Pam Greenfield who took care of her in her home during her last years and was a great friend.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, at Grace United Methodist Church, 1935 Avenue B in Billings.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch, Rocky Mountain Hospice, or one of your favorite charities. A special thanks to her doctors, her hospice nurse Della and the support crew.
