Beverly Lynn Ferkovich

April 10, 1946 — November 17, 2024

Beverly Lynn Ferkovich, age 78, of Billings, Montana, passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2024. She was born on April 10, 1946, in Detroit, Michigan, to proud parents who raised her in the vibrant city before moving to Colstrip, Montana. Later, Beverly moved to Billings, where she became a beloved member of the community.

Beverly was an accomplished educator who spent much of her career teaching and mentoring young people, shaping countless lives with her patience and wisdom. After retiring, she continued to impact children’s lives through her work at the YMCA, where her kindness and dedication were a source of joy to many. Beverly also found fulfillment in her later years as the "World’s Best Breadstick Lady" at Soup & Such, where her cheerful spirit and contagious smile brightened the days of all who visited.

A lifelong lover of the arts, Beverly enjoyed quilting, painting, and photography, finding great joy in both creating and sharing her work with others. She was an active member of Shiloh Methodist Church and cherished her Bible study group, where she developed deep, lasting friendships.

Beverly is survived by her children, Bonnie Oxford (husband Doug), Phillip Ferkovich, Shae, Kae, and Brad; her siblings Edward, Jacqueline, and Michael; and by her grandchild Kassia Lyman who was a constant source of dedicated support and care throughout Beverly’s journey with dementia and 9 other wonderful grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, all of whom were the light of her life. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harry Ferkovich, and her sister, Valerie Warren.

In 2017, Beverly was diagnosed with dementia, and her family is deeply grateful to the compassionate staff at Tendernest for the care and support they provided her over the past two years.

Beverly’s laughter, her radiant smile, and her love for her family will be missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of kindness, faith, and service will live on in the many lives she touched.

A service to celebrate Beverly’s life will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Shiloh Methodist Church. Burial will take place on Monday, November 25, 2024 at the Eastern Montana State Veterans Cemetery in Miles City, Montana at 12 p.m. In keeping with one of Beverly’s wishes, the family encourages donations to Dementia Research to help further the fight against this challenging disease.

May she rest in peace, surrounded by love and light.
