Our dear mother Beverly Sorensen passed away on February 23, 2018 at her home in Billings surrounded by her family. She was born on April 24, 1930 to John Clement and Beulah Parker in Wibaux, MT and grew up on the family ranch on Beaver Creek. She loved horses and had great respect for an inspirational teacher, Mr. Wayne Marcus, who was a town leader and promoter of Wibaux country. She endured a lot of sadness in her early life as her brothers Robert and Roy, mother Beulah, and beloved sister Audrey all died too young. Robert was killed in action in Germany in 1944 with the 5th Armored Infantry Division. Yet, she always had faith and inner strength to carry on. Her father was a State Legislator representing Wibaux for 18 years and Mom had great stories about spending time with him in Helena during Sessions and she was especially fond of going to Mass in the Helena Cathedral. She is the last Parker from her original family as her father Clem, brother Gilbert, and sister Margaret (Peg) also preceded her in death.

Mom met the love of her life in eastern Montana, likely at a country barn dance. Bruce Sorensen and Beverly married in June 1948 and they moved to Billings. Together they had four children. At the time of Bruce’s death in 2008 they had been married 60 years. Family was always the focus of Mom's life along with her strong faith, which was supported by her church community at St. Pius X. Mother was always very humble and kind and had a unique loving relationship with each person in her family, including her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews and their families.

She is survived by her four children- Bob (Lynnis), Don (Vicki), Jerry (Patti), and Shelly Greenfield (Vern) and 5 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and close family friend Bill Bennett (Spokane) who called Beverly “My Montana Mom”.

Beverly was a charter member at St. Pius X and proudly served in CCW with St. Anthony’s Circle.

Beverly’s family extends its gratitude to the staff and residents at West Park Village for the culture there that touched Beverly’s life immeasurably in the past four years. The medical community in Billings is a gold standard of compassion, always going the extra mile in caring for our Mom.

The world is a better place for Mom's kind and loving life. She often said "I love, I love you, I love you ". A favorite teaching: “Life is God’s gift to you- what you make of it is your gift to God.” May our good mother rest in peace in the arms of our Lord.

A funeral Mass will be held at 11:00am, Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at St. Pius X Catholic Church.

In lieu of flowers, it is Beverly’s wish to direct memorials to Wibaux Endowment Foundation PO Box 248 Wibaux MT 59353 or St. Pius X Catholic Church.
