Buddy Dee Jones Profile Photo

Buddy Dee Jones, 84, passed away unexpectedly on Jan. 28, 2015, from a heart attack.

Buddy was born on Dec. 24, 1930, in Roy, to Earl H. and Grace A. Jones. He grew up in Grass Range, and joined the Navy after high school. After serving his country, he worked 35-plus years driving truck for companies such as Garrett Freight Lines and Consolidated Freightways.

Buddy married Lillian Ostermiller on May 27,, 1961, and had two children, Perry Jones and JoLynn Jones, both of Billings. Buddy was blessed with four grandchildren whom he was so proud of and loved with all his heart: Tallon Jones, Janell Burton, Merrick Jones and Beau Burton. Buddy was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Robert H. Jones and Lincoln Knight from Oregon, and LaVera Hoffman of Illinois. He is survived by his wife; children; nieces and nephews; daughter-in-law, Deana Jones; his brother, Oliver E Jones of Mesa, Ariz.; and his sisters, Joy Jones Haywood (David Haywood) of Mesa, Janie Wildman also of Mesa.

You cannot talk about Buddy Jones without mentioning his huge circle of friends. From his YMCA Family, Bingo Bunch, Bowling Buddies, Golfing Pals and, of course, his Coffee Clutch, with whom he met at McDonalds to discuss major, very important, life-changing topics of that day. Buddy would want us to mention Mark Simons, Bob Campbell, Gene Johnstone, Gordon Forster, Bob Doran, Al Thoreson, Susan Baumgartner, Wes Hill. We are so very sorry if we missed anyone but you know who you are and how important to him you were. He loved and appreciated your friendships.

We Love You Daddy, Grandpa, Father-in-Law, Uncle and Hon ... .and, yes, Dad, "we will always be careful."
