Calvin Bauer Profile Photo

Cal was born the youngest of eight children to Leo and Lydia Bauer in Mercer County ND. He served in the Army and was discharged in 1964. Cal worked various jobs in California before moving to Montana in 1973. He worked for several mobile home dealers transporting and setting houses until he and his wife purchased Master Movers in 1981.

Cal was an unbelievably hard worker. He would work long hours every day, and when his family would tell him to slow down and rest, he would say “I can sleep when I’m dead.” Cal would play just as hard as he worked. He enjoyed loading up the kids and their friends for a weekend of camping and boating. He was the first one to lend a hand when asked to do anything. Cal was happiest when he was busy and after he retired in 2005 he would find projects to do solely so that he stayed that way, and he, hence he got the nickname “Wonder Boy” because those who were closest to him would wonder what he was working on now.

In addition to his wife Ann, he is survived by sons Londell ( Roxanne) Bauer of Shepherd MT and Corey (Michele) Bauer of Spokane WA, daughter Amelia Bauer of Edmonds WA, brother Edwin of Portland OR, and sister Eldora Spier of Eureka MT. He was preceded in death by six of his siblings and his parents.

As per Cal’s request there are no services planned, but a reception in celebration of Cal’s life will be held July 26 at 1pm at the family’s home.
