Carl Christensen joined the Lord on June 22, 2018, after a courageous and hard-fought battle with a rare cancer.
His mother and father, Viola Flynn and Harvey Christensen, and sister Maria Flick preceded his death. He leaves behind siblings Melody Dahl and Lyle Christensen; along with many nieces and nephews; longtime partner Suzie Thomas; daughters Amy Graham and Abby Mindt; stepchildren Andy, Amy and Jon; grandchildren Kayla, Jensen, Gage and Carly; , great-grandson Theo; and many close friends.
Carl was born in Sidney on Nov. 11, 1946. He grew up working the family farm and then moved to Billings, where he graduated college in May 1971 at what is now MSU Billings with a bachelor of science in education. He served the Billings community for over 35 years at the Water Department, followed by 15 years at the Bureau of Reclamation. He also volunteered at Faith Chapel, Billings Clinic, Alberta Bair Theater and as a tax preparer for low income families in the community. He also loved to play golf and enjoyed dancing at Dance Fever!
Carl was one of the most wise and humble men that have graced our earth! His devoted faith in the Lord guided all his actions and was the compass for many seeking advice and guidance. He will be sorely missed by everyone he touched, but his legacy will live on for many generations!
He will be laid to rest at Yellowstone Valley Memorial Park on Grand Avenue in Billings. A service will be held at Faith Chapel in the coming weeks and will be announced in the next few days.
