Carolynn June "C.J." Dewey passed away on May 19, 2017, after courageously battling ALS or Lou Gehrig's Disease.

She was born the only daughter of Alice and Michael Perito in Denver on July 22, 1946. She pursued her degree in education in Denver, where she resided until she married Dick Dewey in 1979. They moved to Montana and were married for 34 years, until Dick passed away. C.J. became stepmother to Dick's daughters Kristin and Kathy (Brad), and "Nana" to Baily, Rugger and Adison Holmes, and to Rhian, and twins Hannah and Madison O'Neill. C.J. found great meaning in her 33 years as an investigator for the State of Montana Child Enforcement Bureau, retiring in 2012.

She leaves behind many who will miss her. Her openness and warmth are reflected in the amazing friends who provided so much support and love throughout her life and through the course of her illness. She is survived by her brother, Bob Perito (Gloria) of McLean, Virginia; her nephew, Robert (Michele and son Coren) of Silver Spring, Maryland; and niece Samantha (Christopher and daughter Evan) of Maplewood, New Jersey.

C.J., her family, and friends are grateful for the wonderful care she received from RiverStone Hospice, the ALS Team, especially Dr. Arbogast and Dr. Shenk, and her physician, Dr. Lisa Malody.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 10, at Messiah Lutheran Church, 2939 Colton Blvd., Billings, with Pastor Catherine Card officiating. Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to RiverStone Hospice House, 123 S. 27th St., Billings, MT, 59101 or to the charity of your choice.
