Cathy Lu (Goodrich) Park

Cathy Lu (Goodrich) Park peacefully passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2024, in her home in Billings. Cathy was born in Norfolk, Virginia, on Dec. 1, 1962, to her parents Donna and Arthur.

Cathy spent the majority of her childhood in California with her 12 brothers and sisters, her mother, father and stepfather. It was in California where she had her first child, Marissa (1980). She met and married her husband, Michael Park, and had three more daughters: Averi (1990), Dixie Lee (1992), and Shelby (1999). After 12 years in Arizona, Cathy got divorced and moved to Billings. Despite being diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2008, Cathy went on many trips and adventures with her children to places like Mt. Rushmore, Disneyland, Glacier National Park and Yellowstone National Park. Her favorite places to go were always to see her eight grandchildren or the beach — preferably Mission beach or Coronado.

Cathy leaves behind a large family but her love and care for others extended far beyond family ties. Cathy made many friends, coworkers and acquaintances through her life. She dedicated her personal and professional life to helping others even when she was in the midst of her hardest battles with cancer. Her last job was with the Rimrock Foundation in Billings. Cathy was always ready to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. She was a devoted friend, daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and coworker.

Cathy is preceded in death by her father, Arthur Goodrich; her stepfather, Jay Stanger; and her grandchildren, Bonnie and Jonah. She is survived by her mother, Donna; her siblings, Taralynn, Sid, Doug, Art, Susan, Marsha, Randy, Kathleen, Jess, Jen, Jaci and Glenna; her children, Marissa, Averi, Dixie Lee and Shelby; and her grandchildren, Clara, Dallin, Ava, Bennett, Emerson, Noah, Kandace and Parker.

Our family cannot express enough how thankful we are for the outpouring of love and support during this time. In lieu of sending flowers we would ask that you instead consider making a donation to the Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter in Billings or any charity or organization that speaks to your heart.

Memorial Service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 18, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3595 Monad Road.
