Chester Paul Dabrowski

Chester Paul Dabrowski, 69 of Sheridan, Wyo., formerly of Billings, passed away in Sheridan on May 5, 2012. Chester has left this world to soar in Heaven, leaving behind all illness and suffering.
Chester was born in Chicago, Ill., on April 24, 1943. He graduated from Albert G. Lane High School in Chicago as salutatorian of his class, and graduated from the University of Chicago with a BS in mathematics. He had a brilliant mind. After college, he served in the U.S. Air Force, and was assigned to missile launch duty at Warren AFB in Cheyenne, Wyo. After four years in the Air Force, Chester was honorably discharged as a Captain.
Some of Chester's best times were with Jim, as they hiked in and explored some of the national parks including Glacier, Teton, Zion, Bryce, Grand Canyon, and Chester's favorite, Rocky Mountain Park. He enjoyed jogging, and he walked up to 20 miles a day when he lived at the Veteran's Home of Wyoming.
Chester loved reading, classical music, pizza, indoor plants and outdoor gardens, especially growing tomatoes. He was often very generous, and had a very dry sense of humor. He was always ready for a game of Scrabble.
Chester was preceded in death by his parents Chester and Wanda; and his three brothers Ronald, Leonard and Lawrence.
He is survived by his wife Jo Barringer; step-son Mark Barringer; mother-in-law Dorothy Barringer; his cousin Judy (Ray) Baranowski of Villa Park, Ill.; his good friend Dan Kercher; and his special friend from the Air Force, Jim Wirth of Rector, PA.
The medical staff at the VA Medical Center in Sheridan, Wyo. have given Chester excellent care through many life threatening illnesses. Countless employees at the VAMC have befriended and loved Chester over the years.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, May 10, at the Yellowstone County Veterans Cemetery in Laurel, with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation the Disabled American Veterans (DAV), 2345 King Ave. W., Billings, MT 59102.
