Clyde W. Dailey, 57, died Feb. 22, 2016, under a FULL MOON in Helena.
Clyde was born on Aug. 1, 1958, in Billings, to Leonard L. Sr., DDS, and Ileta Stovall Dailey. He enjoyed playing football for and graduated from Billings Senior High. He continued his education by earning a bachelor's degree from the University of Montana - GO GRIZ. In the early part of his career, he worked with Northern Plains Resource Council and later at the Montana State Auditor's Office. He then worked a number of years with AARP as a state director for Idaho, then became associate regional director in Chicago. He loved living his last several years in Helena.
Clyde was a gifted and caring man and enjoyed people, always having time to talk with anybody he met. He particularly enjoyed politics and was involved with several campaigns. Clyde loved to travel here and abroad, and was an accomplished whitewater rafter. He had a special connection with the family cabin - the Pinochle Inn on the Boulder River in McCloud - spending as much time there as possible, including Thanksgiving and almost always on his birthday. Family had a special place in his heart, as he was especially close to his nieces and nephews.
Clyde was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard Sr., DDS, and Ileta Stovall Dailey; brother Bruce Dailey and sister Deniece Meissner. Survivors include his stepmother, Willeen Foos Dailey; brothers John (Judy), Tom, Leonard, Jr. (Kathy); sisters Rita Campbell, Twilla Meacham (Steve); stepsister Lori Doran; and numerous beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and many cherished friends.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, at the First Presbyterian Church, 2420 13th St. W., Billings. Place of interment will be in Mountview Cemetery, 1704 Central Ave. There will be a reception following at the Elks Lodge, 934 Lewis Ave., Billings.
