Daniel W. Tanner Profile Photo

Loving husband and caring father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Daniel Tanner passed away on Sept. 16, 2015, in his home, with his family by his side.

Dan is survived by Sadako, his adoring wife of 55 years. Together, they had a daughter, Lucy, and a son, John. He also has two grandchildren, Shayna and Chandel, through Lucy and her husband, Moe, and a great-granddaughter, Adyson, through Shayna and Joey. He is also survived by his father, Rev. Herbert A. Cies; his brother, Jim; and his sister, Donna.

A proud, retired electrician for the U.S. Air Force of 22 years is how his met his wife, Sadako, while serving on a tour in Japan for his country. After the military, he still continued his electrical career, but for the people of the city of Billings, for additional 22 years.

The family enjoyed the great outdoors of Montana by camping; fishing at the many lakes and rivers in the region; hunting upland birds, especially turkey, small game such as rabbits, and big games like antelope, deer and elk.

We would like to thank Rocky Mountain Hospice caregivers, especially Della, for their caring and support in our time of need. In addition, we would like to thank all the love and support from friends and neighbors here in Montana and all over the U.S.

A graveside memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, at Yellowstone Valley Memorial Park.
