David M. Doss, 67, of Billings, passed away unexpectedly at his home on March 4, 2019. He was the youngest child born to Scott and Marge Doss, in Seminole, Texas, on June 4, 1951. He was raised in the Billings area and graduated from Billings Central High School in 1969. He was proud to have been a member of the 1969 Class A Championship Football Team. Shortly after graduating from high school, he started his own business, Mountain Springs Sprinkler Systems. Over next 40-plus years, he continued serving his many customers in and around the Billings area.

David was married to Lynn Johnson and, from that marriage, had three children, Scott, Caitlin and Keely. They later divorced. David enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and was always ready for a great adventure. He had many passions, including cooking, for which he was world renowned, spending time on the golf course and fishing. You would not want to pass up his rice surprise or delicacies from the grill! He possessed a great sense of humor and always enjoyed a good party!

He had a great love for his children and was so very proud of what wonderful adults they had become. His children have fond memories of him in his green Mountain Springs t-shirt, heading off to work with his son Scotty in tow and Caitlin and Keely close behind. They also recall many fun times they shared on the golf course, taking camping trips, fishing in his boat and, of course, eating all of his delicious concoctions.

David is survived by his son, Scott (Jamie) Doss of Pocatello, Idaho; twin daughters, Caitlin (Daniel) Ray of Ontario, Oregon, and Keely (Kirk) Absalonson of Williston, North Dakota; and six grandchildren who were always close to his heart, Samuel, Dylan, Kaiya, Emily, Mason and Aiden. He is also survived by his sisters, Claudia Doss (Larry Carlson); and nephews Matt (Kristi) and Ben Carlson, and Marsha (Dan) Monahan. In addition, he is survived by his many Texas cousins, with whom he continued to share a close bond throughout his lifetime, especially his uncle Hyle Doss.

Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice. Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held in Billings in the summer of 2019. Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary is assisting with the arrangements, and remembrances may be shared online at www.michelottisawyers.com.
