Derek Prentiss Forquer

Derek Prentiss Forquer, 37, was born on March 6, 1979, in Billings. He passed away on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017, at his home in Billings. Derek grew up side by side with his twin brother Ryan and siblings Tal and Stacey.

Derek enjoyed the outdoors beginning in his early years while living on a farm in Acton, riding bikes, skiing, sledding and camping. Derek graduated from Billings West High School in 1997 and worked as a manager of a local retail store.

Derek was beloved by everyone who knew him. He will always be remembered for his cheerful smile and laugh, and his selfless desire to always lend a helping hand to friends and family. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with friends and family and his girlfriend Jenn. Derek was a loving brother, son, friend and father, and will be cherished and deeply missed by his friends and family. He will never be forgotten by all those whom he touched with his warmth and kindness.

He is survived by his children, Julian Forquer and Kylee Almeida; mother and father, Janice and Marvin Forquer; his brother, Tal Forquer and sister-in-law Kimberly Forquer and nephew Dylan; his sister, Anastasia Forquer and brother-in-law Reza Ghafoorian and his nephews Gabriel and Zachary and niece Genevieve; his twin brother, Ryan Forquer; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins and his dog Kody.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary, 1001 Alderson Ave., in Billings.

Derek always lived life to the fullest, focused on the present and thought of the needs of other people. Derek will be missed by all.
