.Donald Jene Allen, 79 of Billings, passed away Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at his home following a short illness.
The son of Claire and Nellie Allen, Don was born June 7, 1929 in Sun Valley, California where he was raised and educated. He was the youngest of 12 children.
Don entered the Army December 6, 1950 and served in the Korean Conflict. He was discharged June 29, 1956.
Following the service Don went to work for his father's construction company as a hod carrier and was involved in construction all his life. In his retirement he enjoyed gardening. Don lived in Oregon for many years, moving to Montana in 2000.
Survivors include his son, Don Allen and his wife Tonya of Shepherd, three daughters, Carol Brink and Sandy Shibley and her husband Glenn of Hardin and Linda Brock of Scappoose, OR, a sister Lois Zimmerman of Pennsylvania and 17 grandchildren.
Visitation will begin 1pm Friday at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary. Funeral services will be 3pm Friday at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary. Cremation will follow the services with interment at The Yellowstone County Veterans Cemetery.
