Donna was born and raised in Livingston, Montana and graduated from Park County High School. She started piano lessons at seven years old and began playing organ at the Methodist Church in Livingston in the eighth grade.

She attended Rocky Mountain College in Billings, and later graduated from the University of Idaho with a Bachelor's degree in Music Education. She taught elementary music in Lewiston, Idaho, directing an 80 voice children's choir, a small instrumental group, and classroom music in grades 1-4. She spent many years as an accomplished piano teacher, accompanist, organist, choir director and vocal soloist.

In 1975 Donna moved with her family to Helena and was active with the Helena Symphony & Chorale, serving as president of the Helena Symphony Society during their 25th anniversary in 1980. While in Helena, at the age of 42, she became a metaled marathon runner.

For 14 years she was the Executive Secretary for the Minnesota Council of Churches in Minneapolis and was involved in many facets of ecumenism, including working with refugees, Jewish-Christian Relations, Muslim-Christian Relations, Indian Ministries, and sexual exploitation within the religious community.

She moved to Billings in 1996 and immediately became involved in music ministry at St. Pius X Catholic Church. She was raised in the Methodist Church, but in 1998 her spiritual journey led her to join the Catholic church and became a member of St. Pius.

Donna was a past Dean of the Yellowstone Chapter of the American Guild of Organists and most recently served as a Board member and Treasurer. She was also a board member of AARP Chapter 231, a member of the Ethics Committee at St. John's Lutheran Home and a volunteer usher at Billings Studio Theatre.

Besides her music ministry at St. Pius, she enjoy gardening and quilting, and was a devoted and fun-loving mother, sister and grandmother.

Donna is survived by daughters: Penny (Mark) Smith of Billings; Amy Glasscock of Helena; Tamera (John) Berg of Minneapolis; Kimberly Byam of Nashville; brothers Kenneth (Anne) Hultberg of Atlanta, and Thomas (Patricia) Hultberg of River Falls, Wisconsin; grandchildren Emily Harris and Sam Harris of Helena and Andrew Smith of Billings; in-law's Beverly and Jerry Wester and Carol Hultberg; and cousins, nieces and nephews across the country.

Donna is proceeded in death by her parents, Donald and Bonnie (Thompson) Hultberg, husband Herbert Luebeck and brother Ronald Hultberg.
