Donna M. Peterson died peacefully on July 16, 2022.

She is survived by sons, Donald Huffman (Beverly), Ross Adams (Pamela); stepchildren Kim Peterson (Claudia) and Marla Morgan (Chris); grandchildren Chris Huffman (Marcia), Daniel Huffman (Britt), Will Adams (Cortland); step-grandchildren Byron Snider (Christina), Shaun Snider (Amber), Lisa Kay (Bryan), Tessa Green (Todd), Brian Jackson, Nicholas Jackson, Sasha Peterson and Justin Morgan (Kate). Donna is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. With such a blended family, it was important to Mom that everyone was equally loved. Also surviving are her brothers, George F. Moran of Oklahoma City, Rick Moran (Melinda) of Norman, Oklahoma, and Terry Moran (Deborah) of Anadarko, Oklahoma; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Donna was born on May 2, 1932, to George C. Moran and Irene Stroud Moran at her Grandparent Morans’ home located one mile east of Anadarko, Oklahoma.

During the first 10 years of her life, Donna resided in numerous places in Oklahoma and Arkansas, where her dad worked on highway, bridge and dam construction projects. The family returned and settled in Anadarko in 1942. Donna graduated from Anadarko High School in 1950 and then attended Oklahoma A & M College for one year.

Donna married Roy Huffman in 1952, where they lived for two years before they divorced. Their son, Donald Huffman, was born in Anadarko in 1954. Donna and Don resided in Anadarko and Binger, Oklahoma, while she worked for the Caddo Electric Co-Operative. Donna and Don later moved to Ponca City, Oklahoma, where she began working for the Continental Oil Company.

While in Ponca City, Donna met William C. Adams “Bill,” who was also employed with Continental Oil. They were married in 1958. Their son, Ross Adams, was born in 1960.

The family lived in several states while Bill worked for Continental Oil before being permanently transferred to Billings. Donna and Bill were later divorced in 1972, but always remained good friends.

After divorcing Bill, Donna worked in the District Office of the U.S. Postal Service, and at the Main Post Office in Billings.

Donna met and later married Clifford Peterson in 1974. They lived in Billings until they started traveling in their RV in 1987. Donna and Cliff traveled throughout the United States for the next 11 years, building lasting friendships along the way. They purchased a home in Casa Grande, Arizona, and settled there from 1998 until 2005, when they decided to move to Roswell, New Mexico, to be closer to Cliff’s daughter. They returned to Billings in 2008 to be closer to Donna’s sons and their families. Cliff died one year later in 2009.

A celebration of life will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 8, at Word of Life Fellowship Church, 1737 King Ave. W., in Billings.
