Donna was born to Don and Alice Shelton of Lakin, Kansas, on Aug. 18, 1927, which was also her father’s birthday.
She was raised in Denver, Colorado, and graduated from West High School, where she met the love of her life, Herb Sloane. They were married for 74 years. They resided in Billings for 60 years. They owned and operated B & H Bowling Supply until they retired and became Arizona snowbirds for six months each year. Donna was always active. She bowled, played bridge and made beautiful quilts, but her passion was golf as a member of Hilands Country Club. She even won the Ladies Club Championship in 1995 at the age of 68. She was sassy, spunky and strong-willed, which kept her going for 96 years.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Joanne; her husband, Herb; and her oldest grandson, Shawn. She is survived by her three daughters, Pat Grunwald of Gold Canyon, Arizona, Leanne Reinke (Ken) of Denver, Colorado, Debbie Wallace (Tom) of Queen Creek, Arizona; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She has longed to be with “Herbie” again since his passing four years ago. May they rest in peace together. They will be missed by family and friends.
