Donna L. Stalkup

Donna Louise Stalkup, age 69, passed away on June 13, 2024.

Donna was born and raised in Casper, Wyoming.  She was the youngest child, and only daughter of Max Wayne Stalkup and Donna Winnifred (“Winnie”) Stalkup.  Her early life was anchored around her family’s car dealership.  She snowmobiled and rode motorcycles with her dad and brothers (she even had her own pink Yamaha), and she accompanied her mother on road trips to fetch vehicles in the early years of the business.

Donna was a graduate of Natrona County High School, and attended Casper College.  She married Douglas G. Boyd in 1975, and together they had three children.

Donna was a bookworm, animal lover, and tender-hearted soul.  She was a talented seamstress, making everything from placemats to her daughter’s wedding dress.  She also had an incredibly green thumb and every place she lived was filled with lovingly tended to plants. Later in life, her favorite pastimes included feeding wild birds, and walking with her beloved dog, Gracey.

In late 2019, Donna moved to Billings, Montana to be closer to her daughters.  No matter where she went, Donna made friends easily.  She was warm, funny, and smart.  And while her life had its heartache, she remained hopeful, courageous and strong until the end.

Donna passed away peacefully at her nursing home in Billings following a lengthy struggle with a rare genetic disease called hATTR amyloidosis.  Donna is survived by her three children, W. DaMarr (Mark) Boyd, Dr. Millie J. Boyd, Jesse G. (Sara) Boyd; her four grandchildren,Georgia, Anthony, Marguerite and Alexander; former spouse, Douglas G. Boyd, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers Rodney L. Stalkup and Raymond W. Stalkup.

A private interment will be held at Highland Cemetery.  To honor Donna’s memory, donations may be made in her name to the ASPCA (www.ASPCA.org).
