Donna Wimmer

Donna Sansaver Wimmer passed from this earthly world to take her place with our Lord and Savior,on December 22, 2024. Donna, affectionately known by many as Donna Lynn, was in the presence of God and family when she passed due to complications of a sudden brain tumor. Many members of her family were blessed to have spent time with her during her fight, passing along their appreciation for her gifts of love and generosity and even joining her in reciting the “Hail Mary.”

Donna was born May 5, 1945, to Roy and Mary (Azure) Sansaver in Poplar, MT. She attended Immaculate Conception grade School and graduated high school in 1964 from Wolf Point High School. Donna then pursued and obtained her nursing degree from Northern Montana College. Her nursing career and passion to help others led her to the Corpus Christi area of Texas, where she was eventually blessed with two beautiful daughters, Nadine and Natalie: Natalie being born in Sidney, MT. Valuing her daughters above all else, Donna recognized that Returning home to Wolf Point was the best choice for her, Nadine and Natalie. Donna met the love of her life, Roger Wimmer in 1970, and there was no question that he would be the one that she, Nadine and Natalie would spend the rest of their lives with as a loving family. The couple was married and in January of 1973 welcomed the youngest child, Brad. Donna retired from nursing in the early 90’s. Her devout faith and her drive to put the needs of others above her own, kept her active in the Catholic Church and the community, including being a member of the Catholic Daughters, Wolf Point Optimists, active Parish Ministry and countless churches, schools, and community fundraising events. Never the kind to want a spotlight upon her, most of Donna’s giving took place in private with volunteering her time and resource to family, friends, and community members in need. Donna’s devotion to her faith and her love for her family was unparalleled. These who knew her best knew that her matter-of-fact demeanor might set you back on your heels, but that her heart and her home would always welcome you in.

Donna is survived by her husband, Roger, daughters Nadine (Pete) Loomis, Natalie Stein, son Brad (Dixi) Wimmer, brother Paul “Bud” (Nancy) Sansaver, Mary Ann “Toots” Verwolf, and Don “Butch” Sansaver. She preceded in death by her brother James Sansaver, bother-in-law Tom Verwolf, sister-in-law LaVonne Sansaver, and sister-in-law Kathleen Sansaver. Donna is survived by four grandchildren; Haeley (Thomas) Delahee, Madeline Stein, Peyton Wimmer, and Ethan Wimmer. She is also survived by several loving cousins, nephews, nieces, and in- laws of all whom she loved and cherished.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, January 3rd at 11:00 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church in Wolf Point. Following the service, a light luncheon will be served downstairs. In lieu of flowers or gifts, donations to the Wolf Point Pound Puppies organization would be greatly appreciated by Donna and her family.
