Dorothy Marie Schutz was born September 28, 1924 in Dickinson, North Dakota to Panteley and Anna (Kostelecky) Salonick. She grew up and attended school in South Heart. As a young woman, she helped out on the family farm.

Dorothy moved to Billings, Montana where she met and married John Schutz on November 16, 1946. They were married for 55 years before John's death in 2001. They made Billings their home where they raised their family. Dorothy worked for Pierce Packing and numerous years at the Esquire Café. She loved dancing to her favorite polka music.

After her marriage, she raised four wonderful children; three sons and one daughter. They were the light of her life. Dorothy will be remembered for her wonderful cooking and dedication to her family.

Dorothy Marie Schutz passed away peacefully with her family at her side, on Friday, November 9, 2007 at the Billings Clinic.
