Ed Duncan

Ed Duncan went to his Heavenly Father on March 2, 2021.

Edgar Neil Duncan "ED" was born on Oct. 21,1940, in Hill City, South Dakota. There, he attended elementary school until the early 1950s when he and his family moved to Weiser, Idaho.

As a young man, he worked on the Brownlee Dam in Western Idaho. In 1958, he moved to Centralia, Washington, with his parents and brothers. His first marriage took place to Patricia Senior in December of 1959, prior to relocating to Albany, Oregon. He worked at a plywood Mill in Albany for several years.

After leaving Albany, he spent the next few years in Vancouver, Washington; Stayton, Oregon; and Redmond, Oregon. During that time, he became a truck driver, a career he enjoyed. While in Central, Oregon, he volunteered for the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Department.

In late 1982, he left Central Oregon for Eureka, Montana; Post Falls, Idaho; and back to Montana. During this time, he continued with his trucking career that took him to eastern Montana, where he relocated and met his current wife, Judy Russell. They married and made their home in Hysham, Montana, for many years.

One of the highlights of his career was becoming "Truck Driver of the Year" for the state of Montana in 2004. Unfortunately, due to the severity of his illness, they relocated to Billings prior to his death.

He was preceded in his death by his parents, Elza and Frances Duncan; two brothers, Lloyd Duncan and Ernest Duncan; and a sister, Rose Osborn. He is survived by his five children, Susan Myers, Carol Anderson, Linda Duncan, Wes Duncan, Scott Duncan. Ed had 20 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Ed was there for his friends and family when you needed him. He loved his kids very much. He was very proud of his family and was the glue that kept the us together. His quick wit and beautiful smile will be forever in our hearts and minds. We will miss him greatly.
