Edward Cestnik

On Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2019, Edward Cestnik passed away at the age of 97.

He was born on March 27, 1921, to Vincent and Elizabeth Cestnik in Washoe, Montana. He attended Polytech College from 1940 to 1942. He was a staff sergeant in the Army 550th Night Fighter Squadron as an air operations clerk from 1942 to 1946. He served in New Guinea, Philippines and Borneo.

Ed worked for 46 years at Yellowstone Electric as secretary-treasurer/part owner. He retired in 1987.

In 1950, he married Martha Dickie in Crystal, North Dakota. They were married for 49 years.

Survivors include his children, Cindy Ahern (Terry) of Canton, Michigan, and Richard Cestnik of Billings; grandchildren Brian (Katie) and Barry Cestnik, Christopher and Patricia Ahern; great-grandchildren Lizzy, Mason, Anthony and Isabelle; and many nieces and nephews.

Ed was preceded in death by his mother, father, sister Betty, brothers Vincent, William, Henry and Louis.

Cremation has taken place and a private burial will be at Yellowstone Valley Memorial Park. At Ed's request, no services are planned.
