Mr. JancicEdward Lee Jancic, 66, passed away Feb.28 2006 in his home with his loving wife Marj Phillips by his side. Edward battled heart disease, diabetes, and a number of other complications for 20 years. His family is comforted knowing he has a renewed life with the Lord.

He was born on Oct. 29 1939 in Ajo, AZ. Ed was raised in Roundup, MT by his grandparents Mary and Tom Jancic who homesteaded to Roundup from Yugoslavia. Tom, Mary, his uncle Rudy raised Ed to be a proud American. Ed later enlisted into the Navy at age 17 a year later enlisted into the U.S. Army. Ed served 12 years in the Army, 6 of them in Vietnam fighting for our country. Ed was a very decorated soldier his proudest achievement was the Purple Heart. Ed was honorably discharged from the Army in 1969.

Ed worked in the trucking industry until 1982 when his heart complications forced him into retirement. At this time Ed took up many hobbies that left us with many great memories of him. Throughout his life Ed enjoyed volunteer work in numerous areas. During that time Ed touched a lot of individuals with his huge heart and great sense of humor. He didn’t like to be the center of attention and never wanted anyone to make a fuss over him. He was a very devoted Denver Bronco fan and would play a few rounds of golf whenever he could.

Ed shared his last 26 years with his wife Marj and her children Mike, Dave, Don, and Cheryl Phillips. Marjorie and Ed were married Nov. 7, 2003. But celebrated their anniversary every Feb. 15. He is also survived by his two children Mike and Christi Arnell. Ed has 15 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren who he loved and educated on worldly issues. Ed would go the distance to make them happy. When Ed heard his calling from the Lord to return home, he made arrangements to give his remains to MSU-Bozeman and later be returned to Marj. He was an asset to this family that will be greatly missed and always loved. He did a lot during his 66 years and gained a lot of knowledge to be the man he was. We were all very blessed to have him in our lives. Thanks Eddy

An open house celebrating Ed’s life will be held at the family home from 3 to 7pm Monday, March 6th.
