Eileen Sabe Korber passed away Wednesday, February 10 at Grand Park, her home for the past four years.
She was born January 7, 1927, to Julius and Augusta Martens Sabe, the fourth of eight children. She graduated from Custer High School where she had been captain of the girls basketball team. After high school she briefly studied nursing at Carroll College.
On November 2, 1946, she married Clifford Korber at Custer. She would live near Custer for the next 65 years on the hay, wheat, and cattle farm that she and Clifford worked together.
Eileene enjoyed working her Sunday crossword puzzles, watching Dancing with the Stars with her brother, reading John Grisham and CJ Box novels and making big Sunday dinners for her family.
She is survived by her sons John and Will, daughters Lorrie Niles (Steve) and Donna Mohr (Sam), grandchildren Amanda Shorten (Ben), Dan Mohr (Jaimie), Andy Mohr, Kimberley Niles, Alex Niles, great-grandchildren Sammy and Kaylee Mohr, brother Dick Sabe and sister Mary Quest.
Eileene's family would like to thank the staff at Grand Park for the excellent care she received there.
Memorial services will be held at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary at 10 am on Wednesday, February 17 followed by internment at 12:30 pm at the Custer Cemetery.
