Eleanor Maxine Babb Solari was born on Nov. 27, 1922, in Fallon, Nev., the first daughter of Jay and Marie Babb. She graduated from Churchill County High School in 1941, and then went to Pepperdine College in Los Angeles, later returning to Fallon.
While working for the I.H. Kent Company, she met Dante Solari and they married on Jan. 17, 1944. After a short time, they moved from Fallon to Carson City, where she worked for the State of Nevada as an accountant in the Unemployment Department until she and Dante were transferred to Billings in 1963.
Eleanor and Dante were later transferred to Malta until Dante retired from the Bureau of Land Management in 1975. They had many fond memories of friends and good times in both Billings and Malta. They returned to Reno, where Eleanor lived until moving back to Billings to be near her family in the fall of 2013.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents, Jay and Marie; her husband, Dante; and her beloved sister and best friend, Pat Horner of Reno. She is survived by her son, Andrew Jay (Lezlie), grandson Jay Michael (Karrie), great-grandchildren Destiny Tempest (Rodney) Williams, Nicholas Jay Solari, Isabella Jean Solari; and brand new great-great-grandson, Jameson Todd Williams.
Eleanor was able to celebrate a special last Christmas with her family and dear friends, demonstrating her ever-present spunk.
She will be laid to rest next to her loving husband, Dante, in Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery in Reno. As per her wishes, the family will hold a private gathering in Reno at a later date.
Memorials may be made to Claire's Canine Fund, c/o Grand Ave. Animal Hospital, 2932 Grand Ave., Billings, MT 59102.
